Four decades of hockey history! The Kölner Haie are one of the most prestigious and storied clubs in Germany. The KEC is a legend! Eight German championships, countless playoff battles, star players, star coaches, titles, triumphs, but also tears have paved the way for the Kölner Haie. It can be interpreted in different ways, but those who were part of the scene around the Cologne ice stadium back in the day still know: Without the independence of the Kölner EK's hockey department in 1972, which later became the Kölner Eishockey-Club "Die Haie" e.V., the breakthrough of puck sports in Cologne would not have succeeded. However, detached from the control of the "Kringeldreher," a dynamic developed that propelled the KEC in a lightning-fast march through the Oberliga to the Ice Hockey Bundesliga. Today, the KEC is one of the top clubs in the German Ice Hockey League (PENNY DEL) and is also one of the most recognized ice hockey brands in Europe. The combination of tradition, passion, and emotion makes the games and events of the Haie a unique experience. With up to 18,600 spectators in the LANXESS arena, around 330,000 digital followers, millions of TV viewers on free and pay TV, and over 120 strong BISSness partners, the club is followed and supported.
